Here are just a few fun fall things to do in Muncie, Indiana, for entertainment and relaxation.
Golf Courses
Muncie visitors have access to several first class golf courses but 2 of our favorite ones to visit are Cardinal Hills and Crestview . Cardinal Hills is in Selma, just a few miles east of Muncie. Golfers of all experience levels enjoy Cardinal Hills’ scenic elegance and challenging greens.
Opened in 1949, Cardinal Hills takes advantage of the region’s rolling hills and winding creek. It hosts several fall tournaments and leagues and offers all the amenities of a pro golf course.
Located within Muncie city limits, Crestview offers a more traditional golf adventure with breathtaking fairways and manicured natural features. Crestview has both a traditional 18-hole course and a “Par 3” course tailored to executives. Its website boasts “professional service and a family-friendly atmosphere at an affordable rate.” Crestview also has an awesome family friendly place to eat called Mulligan’s Clubhouse Grill.
First Thursday in Downtown Muncie
Every first Thursday of the month, downtown Muncie businesses and galleries host an arts walk. Families can enjoy several activities and amenities like live music, local food vendors, art showings, and shopping.

Spangler Farms Market
Spangler Farms is the very definition of autumn in Muncie. Along with its farmers market (open through Halloween), Spangler Farms also hosts one of the biggest pumpkin patches you’ll ever come across. Visitors can pick their pumpkins of various shapes and sizes; kids and adults can also enjoy hayrides on the weekends to the patch to pick their pumpkins. Weekends at Spangler also often offer food trucks and other local pop-up fun!
They grow and sell their own produce and have lots of local vendors with local items to shop from. A great variety of mums, corn stalks, pumpkins, gourds, Indian corn, straw, and fresh produce for your seasonal needs.
Cardinal Greenway Trail
For those looking to enjoy nature, Cardinal Greenways is one of the longest paved trails in the state of Indiana. Winding 40 miles through Muncie and nearby towns, the trail has amazing views of the White River and the rolling countryside. You’ll also find parks, picnic areas, and playgrounds. Taking a walk here is the perfect activity to do on a Muncie, Indiana, fall day.
Ball State Football
Muncie is home to Ball State University, whose football team plays in the NCAA Division I Mid-Atlantic Conference. This season, Scheumann Stadium hosts Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Northern Illinois, Miami, and Bowling Green. The fall college football experience is exciting, and there’s nothing like watching it live. Home games always have the best tailgating experiences!
Cruise-Ins
Cruise-ins draw car enthusiasts together with a mix of classic, modern, and even futuristic car styles. Muncie is fortunate to have cruise-ins every month.
The Madison Street Cruise takes place on South Madison Street in Muncie on the third Saturday of each month from April to November. It is a family friendly event and there are always food vendors lined up and down Madison St. You can bring your car to cruise or park and watch the cruisers along Madison St.
